Who doesn't love a smoothie bowl? So much goodness in one meal. The contrast of textures and flavours really does make breakfast (or an afternoon snack) a little bit more magical. Creamy, thick, cold and crunchy… smoothie bowls are pure goodness and take very quick to prepare. It basically resembles that of a delicious, healthy ice cream – without the poor after effects. Sounds better than the packets of sugar and air you’ll find in the supermarket aisles, right? They are all kinds of satisfying and they are actually also quite filling thanks to the abundance of delicious fruits, greens, protein, nuts and seeds you can add to the bowl. Mixing up the toppings is the best bit. Choose from a range of muesli, goji berries, nut butters, coconut, chia seeds, cacao nibs, buck wheat or fresh fruit. The options really are endless. Most of the time it’s just about using whatever is in your fridge but in case you wish to follow a recipe, we have put together some super yummy options that can make your bowl extra amazing!
 

Green Goodness

Ingredients
  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1 teaspoon spirulina
  • half avocado
  • 1/2 cup raw cashews
  • 2 cups coconut water
  • 1 tablespoon raw honey
  • 1 cup ice
Method
Combine all ingredients to blender, pour into bowl and top with: frozen or fresh blueberries, banana, kiwi, raw muesli and coconut.
 

Cacao Heaven

Ingredients
  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 2 cups almond milk (unsweetened)
  • 2 tablespoons of raw cacao powder
  • 1 tablespoons of cacao nibs
  • 1 tablespoon of raw honey
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
  • 1 tablespoon buck wheat
  • 1 cup of ice
Method
Combine all ingredients in blender, pour into bowl and top with: cacao nibs, chopped hazelnuts, mixed berries, raw oats & banana
 

Berry Delight

Ingredients
  • 2 cups of frozen mixed berries
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1/2 avocado
  • rough handful of torn kale
  • 1/2 cup raw almonds
  • 1 tablespoon raw honey
  • 2 cups cooled down green tea
  • 1 cup ice
Method
Combine all ingredients to blender, pour into bowl and top with: banana slices, chia seeds, figs & pomegranate pieces. 
 

Summer-Loving Bowl

Ingredients
  • 2 cups of frozen mango
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1/2 granadilla 
  • juice of half a lime
  • 1/2 cup of frozen or fresh pineapple
  • 2 cups coconut water
  • 1 cup ice
Method
Combine all ingredients to blender, pour into bowl and top with: berries, coconut flakes & chia seeds
 

Refresh Bowl

Ingredients
  • 2 frozen banana
  • 1 kiwi fruit
  • 1/2 cucumber
  • handful of greens
  • juice of half a lemon or lime
  • small bunch of mint
  • 2 cups coconut water
  • 1 cup ice
Method
Combine all ingredients to blender, pour into bowl and top with coconut, buckwheat, almonds, dates, chia seed and raw muesli
