My Name is Jenna Carmen. I was born & raised in Durban. I have a passion for helping others. When people asked what I wanted to do career wise, I would say “I just want to help people! ” Fitness has become my ultimate love, and I now get to help people achieve their desired physique and be comfortable in their own skin.

HOW DID YOU GET TO WHERE YOU ARE NOW, CAREER-WISE?
I won the title of Miss Bikini South Africa 3 years consecutively as well as Miss Earth Bikini. After obtaining my goals and titles I gave up competing in order to use my time to help women that were struggling with weight loss.
I studied Nutrition & Somatology and started my Challenges as a hobby. The Challenges grew rapidly to an unexpected level where I was able to turn my 'hobby' into a full-time career.
HOW DO YOU STAY IN SUCH GREAT SHAPE?
By practicing what I preach through following a healthy, yet balanced diet. I don’t believe in quick fixes & crash diets. I eat a balance between carbohydrates, protein & fats.
DO YOU FOLLOW ANY DIET?
I follow & develop my own challenges regarding my diet so that I can constantly tweak any improvements that need to be made.

Be kind to yourself, self love is so important to be able to grow in your goals and become the best version of you.

Follow a balanced meal plan that you can enjoy and that won’t make you feel deprived, so that you are able to stick to it as best you can.
WHEN PEOPLE HAVE A LITTLE TIME IN THEIR DAY TO EXERCISE, WHAT ADVISE WOULD YOU GIVE?
Weight loss predominantly comes from the correct meal choices. If you find you are battling to make time to workout, ask a friend to join you for a walk instead of meeting for a coffee. Aim for early morning so that you can fit a quick workout in before your day gets busy. A workout will also make you feel more energized for your day ahead. For best results I always recommend training at least 3 times per week for short periods.
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN TEN YEARS’ TIME?
Hmm in 10 years I hope to have a beautiful family of my own, living on an island!

Talking down to others

I think it’s important to still take time to see all the natural beauty around us and be thankful always. I love going for walks on the beach, in the park or hikes on the mountain.
